ODE TO THE MOON

Thou silent beam of the sky,
Glowing in brilliance and splendor,
On thee I fix my eye,
Observing thy tender allure.

Of the daughters of the night,
Thou art the brightest,
Glistening in pure delight,
Unto the stars thou art a goddess.

Thou disc of the firmament,
Thy gaze is our torch,
When darkness becomes imminent,
Thy beauty raises a notch.

Daily in awe I stare,
As thou rise up in dance,
To grace the atmosphere,
With thy rays of radiance.

In anticipation I wait,
That thy glory might be felt,
Tonight is another date,
To adore thee oh mirror of the earth.
